The Shenzhen Modern Machine Learning and Application Key Laboratory was approved by the Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Commission in 2019, and Professor Lu Jian serves as the director. The laboratory primarily focuses on fundamental research and applied technology in modern machine learning. It is rooted in the requirements of Shenzhen's economic and social development and industrial application needs and closely collaborates with practical scenarios in areas such as visual semantic understanding, intelligent information processing, and autonomous driving. The laboratory has undertaken more than 20 national-level projects, including key research and development projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology and joint fund key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, as well as over 10 provincial and municipal-level research projects. It has received more than 30 million yuan in research funding, published over 100 high-quality academic papers, and completed more than 30 invention patents. The laboratory is located on the fifth and seventh floors of Huixing Building.
