The center is headed by Professor Xu Chen and was established in 2014 with the approval of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education. Its main tasks include researching key technologies and related theories such as improving high-definition video quality, feature extraction and recognition, content retrieval, and target behavior analysis. It is based on the requirements of Guangdong Province's economic and social development and industrial application needs and closely integrates with practical scenarios in areas such as intelligent warehousing, smart factories, and cultural relic digitization. The center has undertaken over 20 national-level projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, as well as over 20 provincial and municipal-level research projects. It has received over 40 million yuan in research funding, published more than 200 academic papers, authored four monographs, and completed over 30 invention patents. The center is located in rooms 515-516 and 701-703 of Huiwen Building, providing support for data collection, algorithm testing, and computing power for research projects, as well as facilities for group meetings, academic exchanges, and graduate and postdoctoral studies.
